Job vs. Career

Are you looking for a job or a career? What are the differences you ask?

A job is usually hourly and often doesn’t require a resume or special training.

A career usually is salaried and will require a resume and usually special training or education. A career is quite often part of your identity such as teacher, attorney, manager, counselor, architect, etc.

These guidelines are not set in stone and some employers may ask for a resume for a job or you may need some training or special knowledge to obtain a job. Most careers will require a two year or four degree at the minimum.

I ask this because so many times people just want a job when sometimes they should NOT settle for that and should really be looking for a career which might give them better stability, depending upon the field. A Career and Life Coach such as myself can help you determine the best fit for you!
